Sustainable Agriculture Education
West Haven Farm offers a wide range of educational programs for learners of all ages. We work with students from elementary school to graduate school, as well as with agriculture educators, researchers, and trainers.
Our educational programs are uniquely tailored to the needs of each particular group, and participants are "actively engaged in group learning processes that allow them to examine the multiple dimensions of sustainability at an in-depth level." (Maria Pop, Training Coordinator, Rodale Institute.)
From local elementary school students learning about seeds to agriculture educators from around the country learning new pedagogy to take back to their classrooms, West Haven Farm's educational programs are designed to provide participants with a rich experience of sustainable agriculture. According to Gary Fick, Professor of Agronomy at Cornell University, participation in West Haven's educational programs "pushes [students] in a productive manner to test their ideas and learn."

Visiting the farm
CSA members are welcome to visit the farm any time, though they understand that we are often too busy for much more than a "Hi! How's it going?"
Other folks are welcome to visit the farm, too. A guided one-hour tour, for which we charge $45, should be arranged at least a week in advance. We also offer a free self-guided tour; please let us know if you are planning to visit.
